How do the supplement plans work?
Our supplement plans were designed with your military retirement benefits in mind. They wrap around your TRICARE, CHAMPVA, or TRICARE Reserve Select plans and give you the security and peace of mind you deserve.
The Corporate TRICARE Supplement Plan key benefits and features include:
- Guaranteed Issue
- No pre-existing condition clauses
- Available worldwide
- Pays TRICARE co-pays (including prescriptions)
- Pays TRICARE cost shares
- Pays TRICARE deductible (in most cases)
- Pays excess charges
HOW IS THE PLAN OFFERED?
Our Corporate TRICARE Supplement plan can be offered on a pre-tax basis or a post-tax basis through a qualified cafeteria plan. Premiums for both options are remitted through a payroll deduction. You may also choose to work directly with Selman & Company and remit payments on your own.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
If you are TRICARE eligible, started a second career and your employer has decided to make the Corporate TRICARE Supplement available, you may be eligible to participate in this program. TRICARE eligible individuals include the following:
- Military retirees with at least 20 years of creditable military service and entitled to retired pay
- Spouses or surviving spouses of military retirees
- Retired Reserve members under age 60 ("Gray Area" retirees) and enrolled in TRICARE Retired Reserves (TRR)
- Spouses or surviving spouses of Retired Reserve members who are enrolled in TRR
- Retired reservists over age 60 with at least 20 years of creditable military service
- Spouses or surviving spouses of Retired Reservists
- Eligible for CHAMPVA as a dependent of a disabled veteran or a surviving dependent of a veteran who died in the line of duty
CHECK ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for one of Selman & Company's supplement plans you must be eligible for TRICARE, CHAMPVA, or TRICARE Reserve Select. The guidelines for eligibility in any of these programs can be found at the following websites:
